Jessica Bennett, MS, RD, CDN, IFNCP

Education

Jess holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics, and a Master of Science degree in Dietetics. She is a Registered Dietitian, credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, which means she has completed all required coursework (at least a bachelor's degree in an accredited program), supervised practice (1200 hours in diverse practice areas such as general hospital patients, trauma, pediatrics, geriatrics, community nutrition and more), and has successfully passed a rigorous registration exam. She also earned an extra credential as an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP), which is a very scientifically intricate, but philosophically holistic approach to nutrition.

Interests

Jess loves being active, especially in ways that involve nature, mind-body-spirit connection, or performance. When she's not practicing nutrition, she's often on a stage either with her band or on a trapeze with her aerial dance team.

Why Wellness?

Jess has always been interested in working toward and helping others achieve optimal health. She completed an internship in southern California observing and assisting a holistic chiropractor, which made it clear to her that she should pursue a career in holistic health and wellness. She then spent a semester in Australia studying Naturopathy, which further motivated her to seek a career in wellness. She believes that food is our first medicine and our health can be drastically affected by what we eat, so she became a dietitian. Jess felt limited by the clinical setting which inspired her to found The Wellness RD, Inc. so she could practice more holistically. She strives to understand her clients as whole people, not just a collection of symptoms and test results.
